Description
Job Description
1. Maintains a professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co- workers in accordance with our Service Excellence Standards and Core Values. 2. Performs direct patient care and the provision of Respiratory Care and Hyperbaric Medicine (for those special trained) procedures in all areas within the facility. 3. Performs all procedures according to policy & procedure. Organizes workload to ensure therapy is completed as proscribed. 4. Participates in all aspects of RC educational activities & departmental meetings. 5. Documents & maintains records, charts and reports in a timely manner & documents appropriately. 6. Responds to Code Blue & Rapid Response alerts in timely manner & documents appropriately. 7. Exercises sound clinical judgement & assessment skills to provide appropriate provision of patient care & monitoring & communication of information to other caregivers. 8. Evaluates patient care & makes recommendations when needed. 9. Special trained – Performs Pulmonary Functions, Methacholine Challenges, Hyperbaric Medicine, NICU care, PICU care and Asthma Education. 10. Performs all other duties as assigned.
Unit Description
No Call- Every other weekend Requires- RRT BLS ACLS Work assignments in units are paired with step down and or floor assignment. On average responsible for 8 vented patients in a unit. Floor assignments consist of 3-4 floors. On average 2-3 intrahospital transports (CT,MRI, Specials) per shift. -Bulk Equipment: Servo i vent V60 BiPAP iStat for ABG analysis
