Registered Nurse (OB/L&D) - Minnesota, Bemidji
Job Details

- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour day/night rotation, every 3rd weekend
- Average Weekly Hours: 36
- Unit Census (Typical):
- 5 mom/baby couplets
- 2 pediatrics
- 1 gynecology (GYN)
- 2 labor patients
- 4 Special Care Nursery (SCN) patients
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratios:
- 1:3 mom/baby couplets
- 1:5 GYN/Med-Surg patients
- 1:3-4 pediatrics
Job Responsibilities
- Provide care for postpartum, stable antepartum, newborns, gynecology patients, and med-surg overflow.
- May serve as second RN in the Special Care Nursery (SCN).
- Expected to float as needed, primarily as helping hands, but must be prepared to care for med-surg patients occasionally.
- Assist in filling schedule vacancies related to staff onboarding, vacancies, and staff on FMLA.
- Bonus if experienced in circulating in Labor & Delivery.
- Use equipment including EPIC One Chart, Omnicell, Philips Vitals Machines, Bladder Scanner, Medula Breast Pumps, Responder 5 Call light system, and Medfusion Pumps.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Minnesota
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Current ACLS certification
- Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
- Experience with Epic electronic medical record system
Orientation & Other Information
- Equipment and unit orientation provided on the first day.
- Clinicians must badge in and out at the facility.
- Scrub color: Navy Blue.
- Support staff includes ward clerks, CNAs (Tues-Thurs), charge nurses, resource nurses, and LPN scrub nurses without assignments.
- Must disclose if previously employed by this health system; prior employment must have ended at least 6 months before submission.
This position is suitable for experienced OB/L&D nurses comfortable with variable shifts, floating, and working in a multi-patient care environment including postpartum, labor, and med-surg units.
