Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract

Work Schedule

• Night shifts, 3 shifts per week (12 hours each; 18:45 to 7:15)
• Weekend requirement: every third weekend
• Floating within scope to meet facility needs
• Block scheduling accommodations possible
• No local candidates accepted within 75 miles radius

Required Experience and Qualifications

• Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Missouri
• Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Clinical Skills and Responsibilities

• Airway management and suctioning including:

  • Endotracheal tube suctioning
  • Extubation
  • Nasal and oral airway placement and suctioning
  • Oropharyngeal suctioning
  • Sputum specimen collection
  • Tracheostomy suctioning
• Medication administration experience with:

  • Albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent
  • Inhaled Flolan, inhaled steroids
  • Lidocaine, Nitric Oxide (INo)
  • Pulmicort, Racemic epinephrine, Xopenex
• Familiarity with medication delivery systems:

  • Aerosol setup mask and trach
  • Metered dose inhaler
• Nebulizer use including handheld, T-piece, trach collar, ultrasonic
• Oxygen therapy including High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC)
• Ventilator management:

  • BiPAP, CPAP
  • Troubleshooting high pressure alarms
  • Weaning from mechanical ventilation
• Arterial Blood Gas (ABG) interpretation

Licensure

• Must hold a valid Respiratory Therapist license for Missouri (or pending license accepted)

Additional Requirements

• No more than 7 days Return to Office (RTO) restrictions
• Must complete required background checks and verifications including:

  • Criminal background check (7-year search)
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM quarterly checks
  • HHS/OIG quarterly checks
  • State-specific searches and verifications as applicable
• Physical exam within 1 year of start date
• Drug testing within 1 year of start date, must remain valid throughout assignment
• Fit mask testing (N95 respirators) required and must be renewed annually
• Immunization and health requirements including:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine or declination
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray per facility policy
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination/declination as applicable
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
• Facility-specific compliance documents and policies must be reviewed and signed prior to start, including:

  • HIPAA Acknowledgement
  • Latex Allergy Questionnaire
  • Confidentiality Form
  • Hand Hygiene Policy
  • Fingernail Policy
  • Dress Code Policy
• Orientation modules completion required through online platform (approx. 16 hours)
• Professional references: two required, preferably supervisors within the last year
• Unit-specific skills checklist required within 1 year of start
