Job Description

• Perform thorough, systematic, and accurate patient assessments across all age groups (Pediatric to Geriatric).
• Deliver competent clinical nursing care in the operating room setting, including knowledge of emergency equipment and procedures.
• Maintain complete and accurate documentation of nursing processes and patient progress, including patient education.
• Demonstrate professionalism by adhering to policies, procedures, and identifying areas for clinical and professional growth.
• Promote patient and family-centered care with a cooperative team approach, maintaining confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines.
• Follow National Patient Safety Goals, including Universal Protocol and patient identification standards.
• Use safe transfer techniques and proper body mechanics for self and patients.
• Understand surgical patient conditions, procedures, and equipment; individualize care based on procedure and anesthesia type.
• Assess patient reactions and understanding of surgical procedures and instructions.
• Take responsibility for prioritizing and directing patient care within the perioperative team.
• Provide pre-operative and postoperative patient education and assessments.
• Support timely completion and evaluation of Pre Admission Testing (PAT) orders.

Contract Length

• 8 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in New Jersey
• Minimum 1 year of Operating Room (OR) experience, with OR experience within the last year
• BLS certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Must be able to scrub and circulate

Physical Requirements

• As defined by Occupational Safety/OMS standards.
