Registered Nurse – PCU (Progressive Care Unit) Nights

Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: Night (4 shifts of 12 hours each; 18:30 – 7:00)
• Hours per week: 48
• Unit size: 55 beds
• Patient ratio: 1 nurse to 4 patients
• Weekend requirement: As needed, rotating
• Float requirement: Yes
• On-call: None
• Block scheduling: Case by case
• Cardiovascular experience required
• Scrub color: Any (no logo)

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico
• Minimum 1 year of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Cardiovascular experience

Experience & Skills

• Cardiovascular experience required
• Prior travel experience not required; first-time travelers accepted

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Valid Driver’s License or State ID
• E-Verify compliance (for direct hires)
• 7-year background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required upon hire
• Education verification of highest level completed
• Fingerprinting required onsite during orientation (New Mexico placements only)
• Physical exam within 12 months of start
• Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually (fit test done onsite)
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
• Immunizations and titers required:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: positive titer or 2 vaccines
  • Hepatitis B: positive titer, series, or declination accepted
  • Varicella: positive titer, 2 vaccines, or physician-documented history
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31)
• Flu exemption attestation required if applicable

• Work history verification for the past 7 years
• Complete employment application/resume required
• Clear headshot photo for badge
• Employee vehicle registration form required prior to start

Notes

• Block scheduling and weekend requirements are flexible and based on unit needs
• Orientation and EPIC training allowed pending fingerprint clearance, but no patient care until clearance received
• Scrub color is flexible but must not have logos
