Registered Nurse – MS/Tele Float (Travel/Contract)
Location: Auburn, New York
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 19:00–7:30)

Job Overview
- Float position covering Medical-Surgical and Telemetry units.
- Responsible for patient care including telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation.
- Nurses must independently measure telemetry strips and accurately interpret cardiac rhythms as telemetry technicians are not employed.
- Must pass a telemetry assessment (minimum 80%) on the first day of orientation covering arrhythmia identification, heart blocks, paced rhythms, and clinical interventions. Remediation provided if needed.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State with primary source verification prior to start.
- Minimum of 1 year of recent (within the last year) experience in Medical-Surgical and Telemetry nursing.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) training.
Compliance & Background Requirements
- Unexpired government-issued photo ID (e.g., driver’s license or state ID).
- Background check within 1 year covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years; must be complete before start.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required prior to start.
- Nursys verification prior to start.
- Review and sign facility-specific documents including Code of Conduct, Patient Abuse Reporting, Confidentiality and Non-Disclosure Agreement, Orientation Packet, and Automated Dispensing Cabinet Security (for Pyxis access).
- Annual Tuberculosis screening questionnaire and negative TB test or chest X-ray as applicable.
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Full physical exam within 12 months prior to start, signed by a licensed provider confirming ability to perform job duties.
- Fit test for approved masks within 12 months prior to start, updated annually.
- Immunizations/vaccinations:
- TDAP vaccine within last 10 years or declination
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella immunity (2 MMR vaccines or serologic titers)
- Hepatitis B series, titer, or signed declination
- Varicella immunity (2 vaccines, positive titer, or physician-documented history)
- Seasonal flu vaccine or declination during flu season
- COVID vaccine records or declination
- Drug screening: 9-panel drug test within 30 days of start (instant/rapid accepted).

Additional Notes
- Orientation includes pass/fail testing on telemetry knowledge and medication/pharmacology competency.

- Candidate must complete facility-specific security training for automated dispensing cabinet access.
This position is ideal for experienced RNs comfortable with telemetry monitoring and working night shifts in a float capacity across Med/Surg and Telemetry units.
