Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) - CVOR

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Unit and Work Environment

• Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) with ability to float to General OR if needed
• 8 OR rooms plus 2 Heart rooms daily (9-10 total)
• Average 23-25 cases per day
• Case types include General Surgery, Vascular, Orthopedics, Endovascular, Urology, and Open Heart Surgery
• No Trauma cases despite occasional trauma-related admissions
• Charge Nurse present on staff
• Cerner EMR system used

Shifts and Scheduling

• 8 and 12 hour shifts available; greater need for evening shifts
• Typical evening shifts: 10:30 AM–11:00 PM and/or 2:30 PM–11:00 PM
• Call required 2 shifts per week and every 4th weekend
• Weekend call currently every 2nd/3rd weekend; expected to move to every 3rd/4th weekend when fully staffed
• No floating outside of OR; CVOR RNs may float to Main OR as needed

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of CVOR nursing experience, including cardiovascular and general OR cases
• Active California RN license
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; CNOR certification preferred
• Experience with open heart cases, major vascular cases, and TAVR highly preferred
• Completion of all required training modules prior to arrival (mandatory)
• No first-time travelers accepted

Additional Information

• Call shifts run from 6:30 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, minimum 2 nights per 4-week schedule
• Scrub color and supplies provided
• No IV team support; Respiratory Therapy and Pharmacy available 24/7
• 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Prior travel experience is required (no first-time travelers)

This position is ideal for experienced CVOR RNs seeking a travel contract with exposure to a high-volume, diverse surgical caseload including advanced cardiovascular procedures.
