Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Days, 4x10 hour shifts
Call: 1 day per week and every 4th weekend (Friday 3pm - Monday 7am)
Floating: Position floats between two hospital campuses

Job Description

• Must have open heart experience.
• Must be flexible to work across all surgical service lines including general, gynecology, vascular, urology, podiatry, orthopedic, and spine.
• Certified Surgical Technologist preferred but not required.

Required Qualifications

Education and Experience

• High school graduate or GED required, or
• 10+ years of experience as a Surgical Technologist.
• Minimum of 10 years of CVOR Technologist experience.
• CVOR Technologist experience within the last year.

Certification

• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) through one of the following:

  • Liaison Council on Certification for the Surgical Technologist (CAAHEP accredited program and national exam),
  • National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT).

Additional Requirements

• Must be able to float between multiple surgical campuses.
• Ability to work call shifts as specified.
• Background checks, drug screening, and health documentation required per contract.
• Physical exam within 2 years, immunizations, and other health clearances required.
• Compliance with all credentialing and documentation requirements prior to start.

• The employer reserves the right to cancel up to 2 shifts due to low census during the contract.
• The employer may cancel the agreement with 2 weeks' notice without penalty.
• Travelers are not eligible for employee incentives.
• Request for time off (RTO) must be submitted with initial application; no RTO added after offer.

Summary

This is a 13-week travel contract position for a CVOR Tech with strong open heart surgical experience and flexibility to work across various surgical specialties. The role requires certification as a Surgical Technologist, current CPR certification, and the ability to work day shifts with call responsibilities. Candidates must meet all credentialing, health, and background requirements prior to start.
