Role Overview
- Dual role covering both Cath Lab and Interventional Radiology (IR)
- Shift: 4x10 hour shifts, variable days including weekends, variable start times
- Schedule posted monthly in advance
- 4-5 on-call shifts per month required
- Some weeks may require 8 or 10 hour shifts
- Daily caseload: 4 Angio Suites and 2 Operating Rooms (ORs)
- Floating within scope to meet facility needs; no floating to sister facilities
- Locals accepted; pending state license accepted
- Return to Office (RTO) restrictions: no more than 6 days worked consecutively
- Facility may call off 1 shift per every 2-week pay period
Experience & Certification Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience required
- Certifications required:
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
- Washington State Radiologic Tech License
- First-time travelers accepted
- Weekend and on-call shifts required
- Special clinical skills required:
- Neuro interventions (stroke, coils, AVMs, diagnostic cerebrals)
- Cardiac (STEMI, PCI, diagnostics)
- Vascular (run offs, TEVAR, EVAR)
- Body procedures (CVC, drains, embolizations)

Required Certifications & Competencies (may vary by unit)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- CHEMO (Chemotherapy certification) - required for some units
- CCRN (Critical Care RN)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - required/preferred in some units
- National Tech Certification (preferred for OR Techs/Surgical Techs)
- EKG/Dysrhythmia Competency Exams (Relias Advanced Dysrhythmia Exam required for certain units)
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)
- Medication/Pharmacology Competency Exam
- Conscious Sedation Competency Exam (for GI Lab/Endoscopy or Ambulatory Care)
- Facility-specific acknowledgments and pass/fail testing as required
Licensing & Compliance
- State license verification required; temporary licenses accepted with conditions
- WA Multi-State Licensed Nurses must complete suicide prevention training and demographic attestation prior to start
- Background checks including 7-year criminal history, sex offender search, EPLS/GSA/SAM, and state-specific searches required
- Two professional references required
- Education verification required for Med Lab Techs
Health & Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year prior to start (not required by UWMC but required by Aya)
- Mask fit test within 12 months (specific mask models required)
- Immunizations and titers required:
- Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within 90 days)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (titer or 2 vaccines)
- Hepatitis B (titer or vaccine series)
- Varicella (titer or 2 vaccines)
- Influenza vaccine or declination (seasonal requirement)
- COVID-19 vaccine tracking required (vaccination not mandatory, declination accepted)
- Meningococcal vaccine (for microbiology lab techs)
Orientation & Onboarding
- Orientation modules and testing required prior to start (approx. 2-3 hours)
- Orientation testing includes basic knowledge and medication tests (varies by unit)
- Badge photo required meeting professional standards
- Facility-specific documents to be signed: license acknowledgment, background check form, equipment safety, health history, policies and procedures, job description, security info, personal data form, code of conduct, and others as applicable
- Annual stroke education required for RNs in neuro-related units
Additional Notes
- Facility does not accommodate block scheduling
- Candidates must complete all required modules and exams before being fully cleared to work
- Facility provides shuttle service for parking but only on weekdays during business hours
- Candidates with gaps in assignments over 1 year may need to repeat some health screenings
