Hours per Week: 40

PACU with 15 beds, covering both Phase 1 and Phase 2 recovery
Nurse-to-patient ratio typically 1:2; 1:1 for pediatric or higher acuity patients
Patient population includes mixed cases with daily pediatric patients, some with disabilities requiring sensitive care
All OR cases except transplant patients recover here
ICU patients may recover in PACU, including vented patients on pressors and needing blood products
RNs are responsible for reading cardiac strips
EMR system: EPIC

Mixed 8- and 12-hour shifts (examples: 7:30am-4pm, 8am-4:30pm, 8:30am-5pm, 8:30am-9pm, 10am-6:30pm)
On-call up to 1-2 nights per 6-week schedule (max 8 on-call shifts in 6 weeks)
24 hours of weekend call required in a 6-week period
Holiday call as needed
Call response time: 30 minutes

Unit-specific orientation: 2 days in PACU plus buddy call during first weekend
Travel staff float first; may float to inpatient units as helping hands or sitters, and assist with Phase 2 comfort care

Charge nurse present on each shift, but travelers will not be assigned charge roles
Occasional nurse aide support; RNs transport patients
Respiratory therapy equipment includes vents, CPAP, BiPAP; patients may be vented to nasal cannula
Scrubs provided
Successful nurses are kind, efficient, team players, and willing to help others

Radius rule: Candidates must live within 50 miles and may not be currently employed full-time, part-time, or PRN with any affiliated facilities
Return to Office (RTO) required within 7 days of contract start; no additional RTO approvals after submission
