Registered Nurse (Med Surg GCU) - Nebraska

Job Overview

• Shift: 12-hour shifts, either 0600-1830 or 1800-0630
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Patient Ratios: Maximum 1:6; Day shift Monday-Friday typically 1:5
• Floating: First to float to Progressive Care Unit (PCU) for a Med-Surg Unit (MSU) assignment unless telemetry trained
• Holiday Requirement: Usually applicable May-Sept and Nov-Jan; no more than 1 holiday off allowed during contract
• Extra Shifts: Up to 2 mandatory extra shifts every 6 weeks (every other week rotation)

Required Certifications & Skills

• Current RN license
• BLS (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
• ACLS certification
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Experience or skills in med-surg nursing including ortho, neuro, and spine patients
