Experience Requirements

Minimum 1 year of ICU nursing experience required
First-time travel nurses accepted
Prior travel experience not required

Weekend and Float Requirements

Weekend shifts required every other weekend
Floating required within skillset

Licensure and Certifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
Minimum 1 year of experience in PCU (Progressive Care Unit) within the last year
Minimum 1 year of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation
Fire Card (must be obtained prior to or within 30 days of start)
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Documentation and Compliance

Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
Social Security Card (as applicable)
Background check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; must be updated annually
Education verification (nursing degree)
NURSYS license verification required
Drug screening (9-panel) within 12 months of start
Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
Immunizations and health requirements:
- TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
- TDAP vaccine within 10 years (declination accepted)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
- Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season (declination accepted)
- COVID vaccination record preferred (declinations not required)
Respiratory safety clearance required annually for travel nurses
Fit mask test required annually (may be completed onsite)
References: Minimum 2 references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within last 3 years
Employment application covering at least last 5 years of employment

Annual mandatory training modules required via online learning system (Workramp), including regulatory and specialty-specific modules
Badge photo required (passport style with neutral background)

This position is ideal for ICU-trained RNs seeking a travel contract in a progressive care setting with night shifts and a 1:3 patient ratio. Candidates must be prepared for weekend work every other weekend and floating within their skillset. Compliance with extensive credentialing, health, and background requirements is mandatory.
