Job Description

Physical therapists (PTs) are licensed healthcare professionals who assist patients in reducing pain and improving or restoring mobility. They develop individualized treatment plans to promote movement, reduce pain, restore function, and prevent disability. PTs also create fitness and wellness programs to help patients maintain a healthy and active lifestyle.

Responsibilities

• Examine patients and develop treatment plans.
• Provide care in various settings, including hospitals, outpatient clinics, and home health agencies.
• Work with a diverse patient population, from pediatrics to geriatrics.

Requirements

• Licensure: State licensure required in New Mexico.
• Experience: At least one year of inpatient experience (excluding student clinicals).
• Skills: Ability to work independently as the sole PT provider in the inpatient setting; competency in CMS skilled criteria and medical necessity guidelines.
• Documentation: Familiarity with Meditech and Cerner EMR systems.
