Scheduling Requirements

• Must work full-time hours, including 3 weekend shifts per scheduling period.
• Floating policy: Contract Nurses may be floated to any area where they have demonstrated competency.

Patient Experience Requirements

• Align with patient experience goals by treating every patient with courtesy and respect.
• Be responsive to call lights and involve patients in bedside shift reports.

Required Certifications

• ACLS
• BLS
• NIHSS

Requested Skill Set

• Must Have:

  • Cardiac Telemetry or PCU/ICU experience
  • Ability to read and interpret EKGs and telemetry strips
• Advanced Skills Needed:

  • Experience with post-cardiac procedural care (e.g., Ablations, cardiac catheterizations, Post Op Day 1 Open Heart, permanent Pacemaker placements)
  • Ability to administer and titrate IV medications (e.g., insulin, Cardizem, Cardene, Amiodarone)

Procedures Performed on Unit

• IV insertions
• NGT placement and maintenance
• Chest Tube maintenance
• Temporary Pacemakers
• Foley insertions

Dress Code

• Required uniform: Navy Blue scrubs (may wear black scrub pants with Navy Blue top)
