Location: Middletown, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Days, 4x10 hour shifts
Call Requirements: Minimum 1-2 call days per week and at least one weekend per month (Friday-Sunday)
OR Suites: 8

Job Description

• Must have open heart surgical experience.
• Must be flexible to work across all other service lines including general, gynecology, vascular, urology, podiatry, orthopedic, and spine surgeries.
• Floating between multiple hospital campuses may be required.

Required Qualifications

• CVOR Technologist with 10 years of experience.
• CVOR Technologist experience within the last year.
• High school graduate or GED required.
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) through:

  • Liaison Council on Certification for the Surgical Technologist (CAAHEP accredited program and national exam), or
  • National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Additional Requirements

• Must be able to float between different hospital campuses as needed.
• Must be willing to work call shifts as specified.
• Must comply with all required background checks, drug screening, and credentialing documentation.
• Must provide 2 professional references within 2 years (1 must be a manager/supervisor/charge nurse).
• Current resume/application required.
• Skills checklist updated within 1 year required.
• Physical exam within 2 years indicating fitness to work.
• Required immunizations and health screenings including TB, Hepatitis B, MMR, Varicella, Flu vaccination or approved exemption.
• Drug screening with marijuana panel required.
• Various competency exams and certifications may be required depending on unit assignment.

• Fingerprinting is generally not required unless working in specific units (e.g., NICU, Pediatrics, Home Care).
• Medical questionnaire and respirator clearance may be required prior to orientation.
• Compliance with state licensure verification and primary source verification is mandatory.
