Job Overview

Seeking a competent Registered Nurse (RN) with Operating Room (OR) experience to provide perioperative nursing care. The role involves comprehensive patient assessment, clinical skills, documentation, patient education, and collaboration within the surgical team.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform thorough and systematic patient assessments across all age groups (Pediatric to Geriatric).
• Deliver competent and appropriate nursing care tailored to surgical patients and anesthesia types.
• Maintain accurate and complete documentation of nursing processes, patient progress, and education.
• Demonstrate professional practice, adhering to policies, procedures, and promoting clinical growth.
• Foster patient and family satisfaction by responding professionally and maintaining confidentiality (HIPAA compliance).
• Follow National Patient Safety Goals, including Universal Protocol and patient identification standards.
• Use safe transfer techniques and proper body mechanics for patient and self-safety.
• Support perioperative team by prioritizing and directing patient care based on patient needs and condition changes.
• Provide pre-operative and postoperative patient education and assessments.
• Assist with Pre Admission Testing (PAT) by evaluating orders for appropriateness and completeness.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience.
• Current RN license required.
• BLS certification required.
• CNOR certification preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.

Physical Requirements

• As defined by Occupational Safety/OMS standards.
