  • Basic EKG interpretation test assigned during orientation
  • Critical care RNs (ED/ICUs/PICU) will have more than just the basic interpretation test (like those included in the STEMI curriculum and Procedural Sedation curriculum assigned to them)
  • 2 years experience required
    Schedule information
  • 12 hrs shifts
  • Shifts include: 7a-7p, 11a-11p, 1p-1a, 3p-3a, 7p-7a
  • No block scheduling. Traveler needs to be flexible with the scheduling
  • Every other weekend
  • 2 out of every 3 holidays required
  • 3 shifts on unit plus meet with ER educator to make sure all education is completed
    Unit specific information
  • Uniform colors: Navy blue for RN, cranberry for LVN
  • All Candidates must have some experience with Peds and Adults (50% of their patient population is Peds roughly)
  • In the peds ER, they are a receiving center for pediatrics; in adult ER, they are a STEMI, CVA and burn receiving center (there is a burn nurse that will come into the ER to assess)
  • All diagnosis from minor walk-ins to critically ill patients, respiratory failure, asthma, Abd pain, fractures, substance abuse, stroke alert facility, STEMI receiving center; some psych holds
    Additional Details
  • Adult ER has 28 (18 beds and 10 reclining chairs for moderate care); Peds ER has 5 beds and 5 reclining chairs
  • Ran out of the lobby areas
  • There are 3 triage nurses to start the day
  • Adult ER patient ratio - BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS is required
  • Peds ER-BLS, ALS, PALS, and ENPC preferred or CPEN preferred
