  • Hours: 6:00 AM-4:00PM
  • Monday through Friday on site but available if needed on week-ends, nights, etc. on a rotating basis.
  • Covers on call with other Coordinators Monday-Friday 24/7 and rotates week-ends for calls from staff
  • The Schedule Board Coordinator is a manager position and requires significant experience in having direct reports, evaluations, scheduling and running the OR schedule with Anesthesia.
  • The OR Schedule Board Coordinator is responsible for the management and supervision of the Operating Room(OR) and staffing requirements. Works in conjunction with Anesthesia in daily running of the surgical schedule and collaborates with the Perioperative Services Director, Nurse Coordinators, surgeons, and staff to ensure high utilization of the OR. Verifies lunches and breaks are provided to staff and ensures room turnovers are meeting established goals with OR Clinical Nurse II, Charge Nurse.
  • Makes recommendations to Nurse Coordinator II’s on matters affecting quality of patient care and nursing practice.
  • Performs as a professional leader and functions as a resource to department staff and other leaders.
  • Ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies such as Joint Commission, IDPH, and CMS.
  • Reviews Collective Bargaining, Discipline,, Supervisory, and Management responsibilities, Quality initiatives, and is familiar with policies and procedures.
    Job requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited college or university
  • Current license as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN) in the State of Illinois
  • Three (3) years of Operating Room (OR) Nursing work experience
  • One (1) year of Nursing supervisory work experience
    Schedule information
  • 6:00 AM-4:00PM Monday through Friday
  • Available on weekends, nights, etc. on a rotating basis
  • On call with other Coordinators Monday-Friday 24/7 and rotates weekends for calls from staff
    Additional Details
  • Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in Nursing or Business from an accredited college or university
  • Preferred Qualifications: Certified Nurse - Operating Room (CNOR) Certification
  • Knowledge in the field of medical and surgical nursing
  • Knowledge of management principles such as planning, organizing and staffing
  • Considerable knowledge of hospital policies and procedures
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills necessary to communicate with all levels of staff and a patient population composed of diverse cultures and age groups
  • Demonstrate analytical and organizational, problem-solving, critical thinking, and conflict management/resolutions skills
  • Ability to adhere to department policies and standards utilizing best practices
  • Ability to train by presenting concepts and demonstrating tasks
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy and precision
