Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - West Virginia

Location: Parkersburg, West Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

Unit Type: Skilled Nursing Facility / Long-Term Care (SNF/LTC)
Unit Size: 66 beds
Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:19-20
Shift: 3 PM to 11 PM, every other weekend
Weekend and Holiday Requirements: Yes
Call or Standby: No
Floating: Yes
Dress Code: Any color scrubs

Required Qualifications

Current LPN/LVN license
BLS (AHA) certification
Experience with SNF/LTC settings
Basic IV skills including hanging, starting, and managing IVs
Ability to function as charge nurse (charge nurse takes an assignment)
RNs on unit are required to titrate drips; LPNs do not titrate
Familiarity with CPAP, BiPAP, and oxygen equipment (no vents or trachs)

Additional Information

Nurse aides are present on the unit; ratios vary
No telemetry or monitor techs; RNs do not read cardiac strips
No self-scheduling or block scheduling available
Unit-specific orientation provided
