Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (ER) - Charlottesville, Virginia
Position Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (ER)
- Location: Charlottesville, Virginia
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Schedule: Every other weekend and every other holiday; mids shifts; 36 or 48 hours per week
- Time Off: Maximum 40 hours approved for time off
- License: Can submit application with Virginia license pending
Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
- Must have at least 1 year Level 1 or 2 years Level 2 experience, including some pediatric experience
Required Certifications
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) — can submit with TNCC pending but must have before start
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Virginia
- Trauma ER - Emergency Room experience within the last year (minimum 1 year)
- Experience working with Level 1 and Level 2 Trauma patients
- Pediatrics experience, including working with pediatric patients
- Experience working with adult patients
- Experience working with maternal-fetal patients
- Experience in an inpatient setting
- ACLS certification issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association
- BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- PALS certification issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association
- TNCC certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Additional Requirements
- Background checks including 7-year criminal history, education verification, and other facility-specific screenings
- Health documents including:
- Physical exam attesting ability to meet physical demands
- Immunizations and titers: Tdap, TB testing (2-step PPD or Qgold), Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Flu vaccination (seasonal)
- Drug testing (10-panel including marijuana and fentanyl) within 2 months of start and updated annually
- Pass/Fail cardiac rhythm assessment required during orientation for adult inpatient RN positions
- Professional appearance guidelines must be reviewed and acknowledged
- Various facility-specific compliance and screening forms to be completed prior to start
