Job Overview

• Position: Radiology Technologist (Rad Tech)
• Location: Fargo, ND
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Facility Type: Hospital with 300+ beds, Level 1 trauma ER (50 rooms), 28 ORs
• Dress Code: Gray scrubs

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years recent radiology tech experience
• Active ARRT (R) certification
• Active BLS (AHA) certification
• NDMRT Licensure (North Dakota Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Board) required or willingness to apply within 48 hours of offer acceptance
• Experience with portable X-rays and ER or experience with C-arm
• Ability to work in a fast-paced hospital environment
• Radiation badge supplied by agency/traveler

Job Duties

• Ensure accurate patient positioning during radiographic procedures
• Conduct imaging operations per provider requests and technical standards
• Implement radiation safety and protection practices
• Provide excellent patient care and education before, during, and after procedures
• Navigate and document in the electronic medical record (EMR) system
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Procedures and Areas Covered

• ER, PICU, NICU, Endoscopy, General X-ray, Portable X-rays, Panorex
• Inpatient/Outpatient fluoroscopy including swallow studies, cystograms, VCUGs, urethrograms, arthrograms, lumbar punctures, myelograms
• OR support for neurosurgery, urology, orthopedics, pediatrics

• GE OEC C-arms and Mini C-arms
• Siemens Luminos Agile and Artis Zee Fluoro Rooms
• Siemens Mira Portables
• Medtronic O-arm
• Hologic Fluoroscan Mini C-arm
• Midmark Panorex

Skills and Experience

• Working knowledge of diagnostic radiographic principles: positioning, image processing, quality control, radiation protection

Licensure and Certification

• NDMRT Licensure (North Dakota Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Board)
• ARRT certification
• BLS (AHA) certification

Shift/Schedule Options

• Weekend rotation approximately every third weekend
  OR
• 8 days on, 6 days off rotation (working Wednesday-Wednesday, 10-hour shifts, with every other Thursday-Tuesday off)

Orientation and Training

• Must review all equipment with preceptor and demonstrate competency before independent use
• Specific training on C-arm and O-arm required prior to OR cases
• Orientation continues with preceptor until competency is achieved in all areas

Additional Notes

• Must badge in and out at the facility
• Important licensing tip: Fingerprints and background checks must be sent directly to the NDMRT Board licensing office, not to ND BCI, to avoid delays
• If previously employed by this health system, must have a minimum 6-month gap before reapplying
