Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract

• Shift: Night shift, 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each)
• Weekly Hours: 36 hours
• Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• No on-call duties
• Orientation includes 16 hours of non-billable training, starting on Mondays with online computer-based learning (CBLs)
• The hospital may cancel one shift biweekly without penalty due to census decreases
• Additional overtime shifts may be available and are subject to flexing based on hospital needs

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Tennessee
• Minimum of 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
• Current ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Current PALS certification

Licensure

• Must hold an active, valid Respiratory Therapist license appropriate for Tennessee

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Background check within 30 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in the past 7 years; updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
• Education verification required
• Tennessee Adult Abuse Registry check required if licensed or working in Tennessee
• Primary source verification of state license
• National certification/verification as applicable

Certifications

• ACLS, PALS, and BLS (Basic Life Support) certifications must be current (AHA Instructor or Provider accepted; RQI accepted)
• Other certifications may be required depending on unit assignment

Health and Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start date (not required annually)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray per facility guidelines
• Immunizations or titers required for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B (series, titer, or declination accepted)
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine or declination
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (September 29 – March 31)
• Drug screening: Standard 9-panel drug test within 14 days prior to start (instant test acceptable as placeholder)

Facility-Specific Requirements

• Photo for badge must be submitted within 48 hours of contract signing (neutral background, no filters, no visible facial piercings or tattoos)
• Completion of facility-specific forms including dress code, contaminated sharps and body fluid exposure statement, smoking and tobacco use policy, influenza policy, and respirator medical evaluation questionnaire (time sensitive)
• Respirator fit testing completed onsite; must comply with CDC facial hair guidelines for respirator use
• Candidate must review and comply with all facility-specific uniform and safety guidelines
