Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology Tech (Dual Cath/IR Role)

Job Details

  • Start Date: May 19
  • Shift: 4x10 hour shifts, variable days including weekends, variable start times
  • Call: 4-5 call shifts per month required
  • Shift Floating: No floating to sister facilities required
  • Local Candidates: Accepted
  • Pending State License: Accepted
  • RTO Restrictions: No more than 6 days off
  • Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off 1 shift per every 2-week pay period
  • Daily Caseload: 4 Angio Suites and 2 ORs
  • Experience Required: Minimum 1 year
  • Certifications Required: ARRT, Washington Radiologic Tech License
  • First-timers Accepted: Yes
  • Weekend Requirement: Yes
  • On-call Requirement: Yes

Special Clinical Requirements

  • Neuro: Interventions including stroke, coils, AVMs, and all diagnostic cerebrals
  • Cardiac: STEMI, PCI, and diagnostic procedures
  • Vascular: Run offs, TEVAR, EVAR
  • Body: Central Venous Catheters (CVC), drains, embolizations

Required Certifications & Competencies

  • ARRT Certification
  • Washington State Radiologic Tech License
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – Required for ICU, ED, MS/Tele floats, PACU, Ambulatory Care specialties
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – as applicable
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – as applicable
  • CHEMO Certification – required for certain units
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) – required for ER RNs, preferred for ICU float pool
  • Tech Certification Verification (National) – as applicable
  • NIH Stroke Certification – required for specific units including Neuro ICU, MS/Tele, Acute Care Float Pool, ICU, ER/ED
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam – required for RNs in ICU, MS/Tele, Acute Care Float Pool, PACU, ED/ER, Radiology/Angio, Cath Lab, Stepdown Neuro
  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam – required for RNs and LVNs/LPNs
  • Color Blind Testing – required for all candidates
  • Competency Exam – required
  • Conscious Sedation Competency Exam – required for GI Lab/Endo and some Ambulatory Care specialties
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) – as applicable

Licensure & Compliance

  • State License Verification: Primary source verification required
  • Pending Licenses: Candidates with pending state licenses accepted but must complete all requirements timely
  • WA Multi-State Licensed Nurses: Suicide prevention training and demographic attestation required if working under compact license
  • Background Checks: 7-year criminal background check including national and state-specific searches required
  • References: 2 references required

Health & Safety Requirements

  • Physical Exam: Must be within 1 year prior to start
  • Mask Fit Test: Required within 12 months of start (specific mask models required)
  • Vaccinations & Titers:
    • Tdap within 10 years
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) – titer or 2 vaccines required
    • Hepatitis B – titer or vaccination series required
    • Varicella – titer or 2 vaccines required
    • Influenza vaccine or declination required annually
    • COVID-19 vaccines not required but tracking and declination documentation needed
    • Meningococcal vaccine required for microbiology lab techs
  • Drug Testing: 9-panel drug screen within past 12 months required for Aya candidates (not required for subcontractors)

Additional Notes

  • Some weeks may require coverage of 8 or 10-hour shifts
  • Facility does not accommodate block scheduling
  • Candidates must complete all required modules and exams prior to start to be fully cleared
  • Facility uses Epic for charting and provides scrubs
  • Parking is available at $20/day

This position offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity to work in a high-acuity, Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital with a diverse caseload in both interventional radiology and cardiology. Candidates must be flexible with scheduling, able to work weekends and on-call shifts, and meet all licensure and certification requirements.
