Job Opportunity: Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Chicago, Illinois
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

Specialty: Registered Nurse - Operating Room
Shift: 5x8 hour shifts, 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM
Call Requirements: One 12-hour shift per month on a weekend (Saturday or Sunday), either 7 AM - 7 PM or 7 PM - 7 AM
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (2 weekends per month)
Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 5 days off with no more than 2 consecutive days; no RTO on holidays, the day before or after holidays, or weekends
Floating: Mandatory float facility; all staff must float within their scope as needed
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients
Experience in Orthopedic Trauma
Experience in an Acute Care setting
Strong scrub and circulate skills
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Licensure

Must hold a valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Illinois
Pending licenses are not accepted

Location Preference

Local candidates preferred; must live within 75 miles of the facility

Additional Requirements & Compliance

Background checks covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in the past 7 years, updated annually
Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 90 days of start, updated annually
Physical exam within 12 months of start, updated annually
Fit mask testing annually (N95 or equivalent) with medical/religious exemptions considered
Immunizations and health documents required: Tdap, TB testing (QGold or TSPOT), MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Flu vaccination (or approved exemption)
Competency exams and medication/pharmacology testing required within 12 months of start
Various facility-specific forms and compliance documents must be completed prior to start
