Job Opportunity: Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN)
Location: Chicago, Illinois
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse - Operating Room
- Shift: 5x8 hour shifts, 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM
- Call Requirements: One 12-hour shift per month on a weekend (Saturday or Sunday), either 7 AM - 7 PM or 7 PM - 7 AM
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (2 weekends per month)
- Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 5 days off with no more than 2 consecutive days; no RTO on holidays, the day before or after holidays, or weekends
- Floating: Mandatory float facility; all staff must float within their scope as needed
- Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
- Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients
- Experience in Orthopedic Trauma
- Experience in an Acute Care setting
- Strong scrub and circulate skills
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Licensure
- Must hold a valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Illinois
- Pending licenses are not accepted
Location Preference
- Local candidates preferred; must live within 75 miles of the facility

Additional Requirements & Compliance
- Background checks covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in the past 7 years, updated annually
- Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 90 days of start, updated annually
- Physical exam within 12 months of start, updated annually
- Fit mask testing annually (N95 or equivalent) with medical/religious exemptions considered
- Immunizations and health documents required: Tdap, TB testing (QGold or TSPOT), MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Flu vaccination (or approved exemption)
- Competency exams and medication/pharmacology testing required within 12 months of start
- Various facility-specific forms and compliance documents must be completed prior to start
