Certified Surgical First Assist (CSFA) - Temp Position

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Support a full spectrum of surgical procedures including general elective surgeries and critical or life-saving operations.
• Work within a hospital emphasizing cardiology, cancer, orthopedics, and neurosciences specialties.
• Strict attendance policy:

  • Three absences or late arrivals (over 20 minutes) result in immediate termination, except for documented communicable diseases or hospitalizations.
  • Policy effective starting June 1, 2024.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Surgical First Assistant experience, including experience within the last year.
• Certification required: NBSTSA or NCCT (interchangeable).
• Michigan license verification required.
• Skills checklist completed within one year of application required for RN specialties.
• Full-time employees of the facility are not eligible for contract hire within six months of employment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Orthopedics, General Surgery, Endo-Vascular, Urgent Care, or Obstetrics.
• Skills checklist preferred for non-nursing professions.

Additional Information

• Hospital-provided scrubs as dress code.
• Nonbillable initial 12 hours on bill rates over $40/hr.
• Overtime, holiday, and callback pay at 1.1x regular rates.
• Local traveler policy reduces travel rate by 10% for those living within 35 miles of the facility.
