About
Certified Healthcare Leader certification (CHL) validates the leadership potential for the fully certified registered central service technician (CRST). The Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) offers the CHL exam and certification.

Must be a fully Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST).
Completion Time: Candidates have 3 hours to complete the CHL exam

Course/Exam Format
The CHL certification exam consists of 150 multiple choice questions. Candidates have 3 hours to complete the exam. CHL exam topics include:
Planning and Decision Making - 30%
Organizing - 25%
Leading - 30%
Controlling - 15%
After application approval, which should take three to four weeks, the candidate will receive an email with instructions for scheduling the exam. Applicants register for the exam after receiving an email from HSPA. They may register online or by calling Prometric at (800) 998-1942.
