COURSE FORMAT

About

The Donor Phlebotomy Technician (DPT) certification was a professional credential for phlebotomists who specialized in the collection of blood from donors for transfusion purposes. It was discontinued after the last exam was administered on December 30, 2021. However, individuals holding the DPT (ASCP) certification can continue renewing it by completing the Credential Maintenance Program (CMP) requirements every 3 years. This certification indicates proficiency in donor screening, blood collection techniques, handling of blood donations and understanding of safety protocols in donor phlebotomy.
