About

The International Association of Forensic Nurses (IAFN) offers the Certified Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner - Pediatric (SANE-P) through the Commission for Forensic Nursing Certification (CFNC). This certification demonstrates professional commitment and a firm desire to provide quality patient care in extremely challenging situations.

Forensic nurses provide specialized long or short-term care for patients associated with violence or victimization. Becoming a certified SANE-P demonstrates to patients, employers, and the public that you take these challenges seriously and have the refined knowledge and critical thinking skills to provide supportive and effective patient care.

Exam fees depend on when you apply to take the exam and whether you are a member of the IAFN. Tests are offered twice a year, once in the spring and again in the fall.
