Every heartbeat you monitor, every procedure you support, every scan, imaging and measuring you do for every patient you care for, this week is about celebrating you and the amazing work you do.

Spotlight on a Cardiovascular Hero- Geselle R. RVT

We love highlighting extraordinary professionals making an impact in cardiovascular care. This week, we’re celebrating Geselle R., an RVT Sonographer whose dedication, skill, and heart touch both patients and colleagues every day.

Q: What’s one accomplishment you’re especially proud of?
A: I’m proud of reaching 10 years as a registered vascular technologist while continuing to grow beyond the scan room. I’ve earned both my bachelor’s degree and MBA, and now I teach and mentor students entering the field. Helping shape the next generation of sonographers, while still doing the work I love every day, has been incredibly fulfilling.

Q: How does your work impact patients and families?
A: My work provides answers during some of the most vulnerable moments. A clear, accurate ultrasound can guide life-changing decisions, offer reassurance, or move care forward quickly. I also see my role as an advocate—explaining what I can, showing empathy, and making patients feel seen and cared for. For my team, I strive to be someone they can rely on for collaboration, support, and teaching.

Q: Why is Cardiovascular Healthcare Professionals Week meaningful to you?
A: CV Healthcare Professionals Week recognizes the dedication, skill, and heart that go into our work—much of which happens behind the scenes. Cardiovascular care is truly a team effort, and celebrating everyone involved reminds us that our roles matter. Recognition boosts morale, strengthens teamwork, and honors the long hours and emotional investment we give to patients every day.

Q: What keeps you motivated on challenging days?
A: Knowing that my work helps uncover the “why” behind a patient’s symptoms, which can truly change outcomes, keeps me motivated. I live by the quote: “People may not remember every detail of their care, but they’ll always remember how you made them feel.” This belief drives me to show up with compassion, curiosity, and purpose every single day.
