The hospital itself is gorgeous tucked back in the trees. Working in Tahoe was nice for me because I love a small town aspect with access to things to do, and how the people are to each other. I was actually in the process of buying a house and my director hooked me up with a notary and some advice. I lucked out with a great group of OR and pacu travelers who all became friends. The pacu core staff were newer, but mostly open to learning. I had some issues/safety concerns with a couple anesthesia staff, but overall they were pretty good. It’s stuff that could easily be fixed. The pacu is small--4 bays. Preop is in a separate room with their core staff. It’s a mountain town so it gets busy more around 4pm when the injuries are coming off the mountain.

Slightly stuck in their ways but a kind team. Night shift is all travelers except one permanent staff member. Not a very busy unit. No NICU, closest hospital over an hour away if transfer is even available due to weather.
