I did 2 contracts here, it was alright, ratio 1:4 and 1:5, good charge nurse support on my unit, busy with admissions & discharges

Depends on the department. ICU is great. Really any other department sucks.

Radiology Technician

In the winter time the heating system didn’t work and it would be freezing on the unit for both staff and clients. Had to wear full winter clothing on the unit, almost unbearable at times. The security in that building was scary at night due to the doors not always locked and former homeless clients knew if they pulled the fire alarms to make them go off they could get onto the unit due to magnetic doors automatically opening, this was very concerning due to this happening multiple times. There were lots of homeless that were on their campus not being chased off. Never saw security personnel on units except in car sleeping in parking lot. Client showers overflowed into the hallways on a regular basis and hot water for clients showers and staff would not work for days. These issues would be reported immediately but was not important to the hospital!!

2:1, charge nurse is patient free which is helpful however, the "shift supervisor/charge" would go missing to smoke every hour or eating and never left the desk. Cheryl is the saving grace of night shift when she is charge. techs occasionally but not always will get q4-6 or achs sugars but not hourly, the actual manager isn't at all qualified to manage a unit but his wife is secretary to the CNO and there are so many conflicts of interest amongst upper management in this facility. Lawton is not a great town. supplys are stocked though, there is a hospitalist overnight.

The management was not professional. They told the full time techs my rate of pay which caused an automatic dislike and conflict from the other techs. I would not recommend this facility to anyone.
