Speech and Language Pathologists (SLP)

We are seeking dedicated Speech and Language Pathologists (SLP) for both inpatient and outpatient services. This position involves providing essential care to patients with speech, language, and dysphagia disorders, including evaluations, treatment planning, and therapy.

Job Summary

Under general supervision, the SLP will be responsible for delivering speech and language services, conducting patient evaluations, and administering treatment plans. Responsibilities include designing individualized care programs and providing reports to medical staff.

Essential Functions

• Utilize an outward mindset to achieve both personal and patient-focused goals.
• Perform patient evaluations and deliver treatment for speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
• Design and revise plans of care and treatment goals.
• Document patient care according to established standards and regulatory requirements.
• Engage in in-service education programs to enhance professional development.
• Stay updated on current trends and developments in speech and swallowing disorders.
• Participate in patient care committees, case conferences, and community education projects.
• Attend staff meetings and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.

Additional Information

This position requires the SLP to work independently while providing care in inpatient settings, including bedside swallow studies and outpatient services, such as videofluoroscopic swallowing studies (VFSS) and speech therapy interventions for adults.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Speech and Language Pathology is required.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) is required.
• Must have at least 2 years of pediatric SLP experience.
• Experience with VFSS is required.
• An active Michigan SLP license is required.
• Must be willing to work in both inpatient and outpatient units.
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.

Work Schedule

The typical work schedule consists of four days a week, Monday to Wednesday and Friday, from 7 AM to 5:30 PM, with Thursdays off. Additional hours may be required on an as-needed basis.

Weekend and On-Call Requirements

There are no weekend requirements for this position. However, rotating weekend on-call duties are expected for inpatient services, typically once a month.
