Job Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) collaborates with residents and other care providers to foster a safe and comfortable therapeutic environment by delivering both direct and indirect care. Responsibilities include working on specialized units to support residents with varying needs.

Unit Information

• 3 East: A 31-bed specialized unit dedicated to residents with Alzheimer's and dementia, focusing on tailored care that meets their unique needs. This includes utilizing effective verbal and non-verbal communication techniques and understanding the behaviors associated with dementia as valid forms of communication.
• Transitional Rehabilitation Unit: A 42-bed unit that provides short-term skilled nursing and rehabilitation services for patients recovering from surgeries, strokes, fractures, and other short-term illnesses or injuries. Services may include IV therapy, wound care, and geriatric assessment and management.
• 3 West: A 42-bed long-term care unit that offers essential support to residents in a home-like environment for ongoing care needs.

Job Requirements

• Education: Associates degree in Nursing.
• Licensure: Valid State of Maine or compact RN license.
• Experience: 1-3 years of previous RN experience.
• Skills:
  • Proficiency in medical terminology is preferred.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills are essential.
  • The ability to effectively collaborate with other care providers.
  • Flexibility to provide coverage 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and to float to other units as needed.

Shift Information

Days (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM) with holiday coverage required.

Certifications and Requirements

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
