Job Description

Speech and Language Pathologists (SLPs) play a critical role in developing treatment plans aimed at enhancing residents' swallowing, cognitive, and communication abilities while reducing the risk of aspiration. These treatment plans focus not only on improving how individuals are understood but also on enhancing their comprehension of others.

The SLP will lead, guide, and direct the provision of speech language pathology and audiology services in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as established facility policies and procedures, ensuring high-quality care and services for residents.

Responsibilities

• Develop personalized treatment plans to assist residents in improving their communication skills and swallowing capabilities.
• Conduct assessments to evaluate residents' speech, language, and swallowing abilities.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide integrated care for residents.
• Educate residents and their families about communication disorders and available therapies.
• Document progress and outcomes of therapy sessions for compliance and quality assurance.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Speech and Language Pathologist.
• Must possess a valid Texas license or compact license.

Shift Requirements

This position typically requires 8-hour day shifts, guaranteeing a 40-hour work week. There are no weekend or on-call requirements.
