The Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit (CTICU) provides specialized, high-acuity care for patients recovering from intricate heart, lung, and vascular surgeries or experiencing severe cardiac and/or respiratory conditions. Our team is dedicated to delivering top-tier, continuous monitoring and advanced medical care for those in critical need.

Position Overview

This is a rotating 26-week position requiring 12-hour shifts, with a mix of day and night schedules, amounting to 36 hours of work per week. Weekly orientation sessions are provided for new staff members.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered care in the CTICU, ensuring the highest standards of care.
• Engage in continuous assessment and monitoring of patients' health status.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by medical staff.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to formulate and implement care plans.
• Respond effectively to emergencies and clinical alerts.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2-3 years of nursing experience, with at least 2 years in a Cardiothoracic or Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit.
• Experience in a Level 1 trauma facility preferred.
• Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, particularly EPIC.
• Current certifications in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) through AHA.
• Ability to wear any color scrubs as part of the uniform policy.

Additional Requirements

Candidates must have a minimum of 6 months separation from previous employment within the organization to be considered for this role. Previous travel experience is also required for applicants.
