We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Float Pool team. This position will involve providing critical care across multiple units within the region, including ICU, ER, MedSurg, Tele, Labor & Delivery/Postpartum, and NICU.

Position Details

• Shift: Nights (7 PM - 7 AM), with weekends as needed.
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Years of Experience Required: Minimum of 2 years in specialty
• Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS

Job Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in various units, including critical care settings.
• Float only within specialty areas and handle midshift float requests as needed.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, administer medications, and manage drips as applicable to the specialty.
• Coordinate with unit managers and leadership teams regarding patient care and workload.
• Participate in orientation and training for new float pool nurses.

• Emergency Room (ER)
• Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
• Medical/Surgical Units (MedSurg)
• Tele Units
• Labor & Delivery/Postpartum (L&D/PP)
• Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)

Patient Ratios

• ER: 1:4
• ICU: 1:1-2
• MedSurg: 1:5
• Tele: 1:4
• Pediatrics: 1:3
• NICU: 1:4

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a relevant specialty.
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred.
• Experience in antepartum and mother-baby care is highly desirable for L&D roles.

Orientation and Training

• Meet and greet session on the first day of orientation.
• Three shifts of inpatient orientation will be provided.

Additional Information

• Travelers will utilize a mobile application to receive unit assignments 1 hour prior to shift start.
• All locations are within a safe radius, approximately 20 minutes apart.
• Dress code is professional; no specific color requirement for scrubs.
• No self-scheduling; attempts will be made for block scheduling but cannot be guaranteed.
