Certified Surgical Tech (CST) - General Specialty

This position is for a Certified Surgical Tech (CST) specializing in General Surgery, offering a dynamic work environment with opportunities to work across various surgical cases.

Position Details

• Shift: 40 hours per week, composed of a mix of 8-hour and 10-hour shifts.
• Weekend Requirements: Every 5th or 6th weekend is required.
• On-Call Requirements: 6-7 shifts per month, which may include overnight on-call shifts.

Patient Population

The certified surgical tech will be involved in providing care for a diverse patient population, including pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting in surgical procedures, including but not limited to: General Surgery, OB (including C-sections), Orthopedic (Total Joints), Urology, and Sports Medicine.
• Ensuring a sterile environment and adherence to safety protocols during surgical procedures.
• Preparing and maintaining surgical instruments and equipment.
• Collaborating effectively with surgical teams to provide the best patient care.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Surgical Tech certification - NBSTSA preferred, or TS-C from NCCT.
• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• The candidate should be proficient in Orthopedic surgeries including Total Joints and General surgeries, including C-sections.
• Prior travel experience is highly preferred.

Additional Requirements

• Candidate's permanent address must be located 50+ miles from the facility.
• Requests for time off (RTO) cannot exceed more than 3 days.
• New Hampshire Med Tech certification is required but can be applied for during the hiring process.
