Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Certified Surgical Tech (CST) specializing in General surgery. The position offers a full-time schedule with a mix of 8-hour and 10-hour shifts. The successful candidate will work primarily day shifts and will be responsible for providing exceptional surgical assistance in a variety of settings, including pediatrics, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
Shift and Call Requirements
- 40 hours per week with a combination of 8-hour and 10-hour shifts.
- Call shifts required: 6-7 per month, including weekends.
- Weekend call every 4th or 5th weekend: from Friday afternoon until Monday morning.
- Additional individual night call shifts from 5 PM to 6:30 AM.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in various surgical procedures including General, OB (including C-sections), Ortho (including Total Joints), Urology, and Sports Medicine.
- Prepare and maintain surgical instruments and sterile fields.
- Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and other surgical personnel to ensure optimal patient care.
- Monitor patient comfort and safety before, during, and after procedures.
Qualifications
- Current Certification as a Surgical Technologist (NBSTSA or TS-C from the NCCT).
- Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Proficiency in surgical cases involving trauma (Level III), Ortho, GYN, Urology, and Sports Medicine.
- Previous travel experience is highly preferred.
- New Hampshire Med Tech certification is required but can be obtained upon offer acceptance.
- Permanent address must be located 50+ miles from the facility.
Additional Information
All licenses and certifications must be current at the time of application. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in total joints and C-sections through the required skills checklist and provide a supervisory reference from the past year of employment.
Requests for time off (RTO) must not exceed three days.
