Job Overview

The ICU Registered Nurse (RN) will provide high-quality care to critically ill patients in a specialized and fast-paced environment. This role requires strong clinical skills, the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, and a commitment to ongoing professional development.

Shift Details

• Work Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend required

Contract Details

• Contract length of more than 14 weeks may be considered; please specify interest when applying.
• 4x12 shifts may be available; inquire at the time of submission.
• Call outs may lead to immediate contract cancellation.

Time Off Restrictions

• Up to 14 days of requested time off (RTO) will be auto-approved.
• RTO is not permitted during critical holidays, including winter and summer holidays, Easter, Mother's Day, and Father's Day.

Patient Care Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care to a diverse patient population including adults and geriatrics.
• Manage medical, surgical, coronary care, neuro, and trauma patients.
• Coordinate care for patients awaiting transfer to other units.

Qualifications

• Two years of critical care experience required, with Level II trauma experience preferred.
• Experience in Neuro ICU and Surgical ICU is necessary.
• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management experience are required.
• Proficiency in managing multisystem organ dysfunction/failure is a must.
• Experience with cardiac and vasoactive drip titration is essential.

Certifications

• ACLS, BLS, and NIH certification required.
• ATCAR or equivalent trauma education is required; candidates may complete an approved trauma course.
• Passing score on the Advanced EKG assessment is required prior to proceeding with the contract.

Clinical Skills and Equipment Experience

• Experience with IABP, CRRT, EVD, and Arctic Sun/Cooling blanket management is required.
• Ability to float within appropriate critical-care areas based on scope and competency.

Charting System

The established charting system used at this facility is Cerner.

Uniform Requirements

The designated scrub color for this position is navy blue.
