Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Medical-Surgical Unit/Progressive Care Unit (MSU/PCU). The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and will be expected to flex between departments as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and address the education needs of patients and their significant others using appropriate modalities.
• Ensure patient safety through preventative measures, adhering to established protocols regarding side rails, restraints, and equipment safety.
• Demonstrate knowledge of equipment operation in the PCU/Telemetry/MedSurg areas, including troubleshooting and documentation procedures for maintenance and repair.
• Implement infection control and isolation procedures according to proper protocols and thorough documentation.
• Maintain accurate and concise documentation of patient status, nursing interventions, and patient responses during assigned shifts.
• Report critical lab values to physicians promptly and follow policies for communication and documentation.
• Perform a 24-hour check of orders as part of the assigned responsibilities.
• Ensure emergency carts and general supplies are maintained and stocked.
• Convey complete and accurate shift reports to oncoming staff and communicate effectively with other departments.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Additional Requirements

Holiday coverage is required.

Active Washington State RN license is mandatory.
