Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Med-Surg/Telemetry to join our team. This position involves 12-hour night shifts with guaranteed hours and may require floating between various units.

Core Responsibilities

• Patient Assessment: Conduct comprehensive assessments upon patient admission and monitor condition trends throughout the hospital stay.
• Medication & Treatment: Prepare, administer, and document prescribed medications (including IVs) while managing wound care and specialized equipment.
• Care Coordination: Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on post-surgery care, medication schedules, and instructions for post-discharge.
• Emergency Response: Recognize early signs of medical deterioration and take prompt action to stabilize patients before emergencies arise.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Med-Surg and Telemetry.
• Must be flexible and willing to float between units as required.

Certification Requirements

• Must possess Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

Licensure

• A valid and active nursing license in the state of Michigan is required at the time of application.
