Job Description

This position requires a highly skilled and experienced Surgical Technologist with extensive experience in various surgical specialties, including orthopedic, neurological, and vascular procedures. Candidates lacking comprehensive, current experience in these areas will not be considered.

Work Schedule

Actual weekly hours and shifts will be determined during the phone interview. The Surgical Technologist will work approximately 36 to 40 hours per week, which can be structured as:

• Three 12-hour shifts
• Four 10-hour shifts
• Five 8-hour shifts

Start and end times are negotiable. The position includes approximately every fifth weekend as a call weekend, and candidates should be prepared for 1-2 on-call shifts per week, subject to change based on departmental needs.

Call Requirements

All call shifts will require a 30-minute response time from the moment of the call until arrival on-site. Additionally, holiday call rotation may be required based on patient census and staffing needs, allowing for possible variability in this rotation.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited surgical technology program is mandatory
• BLS certification is required; CST certification is preferred but not mandatory
• Excellent critical thinking skills and a comprehensive understanding of central processing and instrumentation are essential

Holiday Coverage

Holiday coverage will be required as part of the on-call rotation.
