Unit Information
Wound and Skin Clinicians are skilled professionals specializing in the assessment, treatment, and management of patients facing challenges with wounds, ostomies, and continence-related conditions. This role primarily emphasizes both acute and rehabilitative patient care while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to enhance healing outcomes and provide effective patient education.
Responsibilities
The Wound Care Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing care to patients with:
- Acute and chronic wounds
- Pressure injuries
- Ostomies (abdominal stomas)
- Fistulas
- Surgical drains
- Continence disorders
- Conditions affecting the gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and integumentary systems
In addition to direct patient care, the Wound Care RN will serve as an educator, consultant, and clinical resource for staff, patients, and families.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of Wound Care RN experience
- Active Maryland RN license or Compact RN license at the time of submission
- Current BLS certification required
- WCC (Wound Care Certified) and/or WOCN (Wound, Ostomy & Continence Nurse) certification preferred
