Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Endoscopy Registered Nurse (RN) to join our surgical services team. This position focuses on providing high-quality care in the Endoscopy department, managing diverse patient populations through their procedures.

Unit Overview

The Endoscopy unit consists of:

• 7 procedure rooms
• 4 rooms for Monitored Anesthesia Care (MAC)
• 3 rooms for Conscious Sedation procedures
• Holding and recovery spaces

Our Endoscopy department operates on weekdays with the need for on-call coverage for evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain endoscopy equipment, including Olympus scope set-up and handling.
• Assist in performing endoscopic procedures with a focus on patient safety and comfort.
• Monitor patients in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) with a clinician to patient ratio of 1:1 in procedure rooms and 1:2-3 in PACU.
• Maintain accurate documentation utilizing the EPIC electronic medical record system.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide exceptional patient care.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2-3 years of nursing experience in a single location.
• At least 2 years of experience as a traveling nurse.
• Active Massachusetts RN License.
• AHA ACLS Certification is required.
• Certification in SGNA or CBSPD is strongly preferred.

Additional Information

This position requires rotating shifts based on departmental needs, with hours of operation from 6:30 AM to 5:30 PM. There is no floating required in this role.
