We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Surgical Technician for the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) to join our medical team. This role involves functioning as a vital member of the operating room team, with primary responsibility for the scrub position during surgical interventions.

Shift Details

• 3, 12-hour shifts
• 36 hours per week
• Shift time: 0630-1900

Requirements

• BLS certification
• Graduate from an accredited school of Surgical Technology
• Current Washington State Surgical Technologist license
• National Certification by the Association of Surgical Technologists
• CVOR experience is required

Position Summary

As a Surgical Technician in the CVOR, you will maintain a safe and aseptic environment during surgical procedures according to established standards, policies, and procedures. Your expertise is crucial in assisting the surgical team and ensuring optimal patient care.

Essential Functions

• Demonstrate proficiency in various surgical procedures and techniques.
• Show knowledge of surgical equipment and instrumentation.
• Set up and maintain a sterile field effectively.
• Utilize instruments, sutures, and stapling devices correctly and safely.
• Follow proper protocols for equipment handling, including obtaining, returning, cleaning, and disposing of equipment.
• Prepare surgical instruments according to the surgeon's preference card.
• Recognize and report faulty equipment or unsafe conditions promptly.
• Perform accurate sponge, needle, and instrument counts at designated times.
• Identify and label all specimens according to departmental policies.
• Effectively handle emergency situations that may arise in the operating room.
