Job Description

We are seeking dedicated Emergency Room Registered Nurses (ER RNs) to provide high-quality care in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. This role involves working with a diverse patient population and is critical for ensuring optimal patient outcomes in emergency situations.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide immediate and effective nursing care to patients in the emergency room.
• Perform triage for incoming patients, prioritizing care based on medical need.
• Administer medications and treatments as per protocols.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, reporting any changes to the healthcare team.
• Collaborate with physicians, mid-level providers, and nursing staff to develop care plans.
• Assist in various procedures and emergency interventions, including managing common drips such as heparin and nitroglycerin.
• Document all patient care and interactions accurately in the electronic health record.
• Participate in departmental meetings and maintain compliance with all hospital policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Active RN license and certification in ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC required.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in an emergency room setting preferred.
• Pediatric experience is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in Cerner or similar electronic health record systems is a plus.
• Must possess strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to make quick and effective decisions.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.

Work Schedule

• 12-hour shifts on weekends (Friday through Sunday) with a guarantee of 36 hours per week.
• Every other holiday commitment is required.

Additional Information

• Emergency Department features a combination of urgent care and ER services.
• Average patient volume: 140-180 patients per day.
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: ER 1:3, Urgent Care 1:6.
• All nurses are expected to participate in patient triage.
• Orientation procedures include three days of training with a preceptor.
