Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) with experience in cardiovascular (CV) and general surgery. This role involves providing excellent patient care within the operating room, demonstrating advanced surgical nursing skills, and contributing to a collaborative healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities

• Circulate and scrub during surgical procedures, ensuring compliance with safety and surgical standards.
• Assist in various surgical specialties including cardiovascular, orthopedic, general, ENT, urology, robotics, and gynecology.
• Prepare and maintain surgical equipment and supplies, operating effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Monitor patients preoperatively and postoperatively, providing high-quality nursing care.
• Participate in on-call rotations and manage emergent surgical situations as they arise.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in West Virginia or Compact RN license.
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience, with at least 1 year in an in-specialty role.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Proficiency in key skills such as vascular and orthopedic surgeries, advanced general surgery techniques, and robotic-assisted procedures.
• Experience with specific procedures including vein harvesting, total joints, laparoscopic surgeries, and more.

Work Schedule

This position requires a commitment to a rotating schedule, including weekends and on-call duties. The available shifts may include:

• 3x12 days or evenings with start times typically around 9:00 AM or 9:00 PM.
• 4x10 shifts every other weekend with on-call responsibilities.

Special Requirements

• Must possess strong critical thinking and teamwork skills.
• Ability to maintain a 30-minute response time when on call.
• Willingness to adhere to all health protocols, including flu vaccination requirements, unless exempt for medical reasons.

Additional Information

Guaranteed hours for the position are 36 per week. The work environment is dynamic, serving a diverse patient population, and requires flexibility and adaptability.
