Job Description

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced IMC/Tele Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality patient care in a stepdown unit dedicated to cardiac and telemetry patients. This role involves managing a diverse range of medical and surgical cardiac conditions, ensuring the delivery of top-notch healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to cardiac medical and surgical patients.
• Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions regularly.
• Titrate medication drips, including Nitroglycerin, Heparin, and Amiodarone.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Manage post-procedural care for patients coming from the catheterization lab.
• Utilize telemetry monitoring for non-critical care patients.
• Educate patients and families on health management and recovery.
• Participate in unit orientation and mentoring of new staff.

Shift Information

This position offers 12-hour day shifts with a guaranteed commitment of 48 hours per week, with the option to work 36 hours. Staff will be required to work every other weekend and holiday.

Unit Information

• Unit Type: Stepdown
• Number of Beds: 29
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratios: 1:4 on days; 1:5-6 on nights
• Support Staff: Includes Nursing Aides and 24/7 Respiratory Therapy

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of recent nursing experience in an acute care hospital environment.
• Experience with post-procedural catheterization lab patients.
• Familiarity with TR band compression device management and chest pain assessment.
• Current certifications in ACLS and BLS (American Heart Association).

Additional Information

• No self-scheduling, with block scheduling as needed to meet unit requirements.
• Orientation includes one shift of HR onboarding and one shift on the unit.
• Floating may be required based on unit census.
