Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse with experience in Medical-Surgical and Telemetry to join our team. This position offers a 3x12 hour day shift schedule, requiring flexibility and the ability to float between multiple locations within the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care for acutely ill medical-surgical and orthopedic patients.
• Manage patient cases involving diagnoses such as acute and chronic respiratory illness, post-operative care, CHF, and renal failure.
• Administer medication and IV drips including Heparin and TNA.
• Ensure compliance with best practices in patient management and safety standards.
• Participate in float assignments as required to meet staffing needs across various facilities.

Shift Requirements

This role requires a 3x12 hour shift from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM. An every-other-week rotation is mandatory, with a requirement to work at least one day during each winter holiday season, including Christmas Eve or Christmas Day and New Year's Eve or New Year's Day.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
• BLS certification is required; ACLS and NIH Stroke Scale certifications are preferred.
• Experience with telemetry and management of acute/chronic patient conditions.
• Ability to care for patients with varying needs, including those with a Clinical Institute Withdrawal (CIWA) score below 7 as well as individuals who are suicidal or have uncontrolled seizures.

Patient Population

Patients may present with a range of diagnoses including:

• Acute/Chronic respiratory illness
• Post-operative complications
• Acute and chronic pain management
• Diabetes-related conditions
• Active gastrointestinal bleeding
• Cognitive and behavioral health concerns
