Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Technologist

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Technologist to join our surgical services team. The successful candidate will possess strong skills in cardiac and thoracic surgery, with expertise in various procedures and technology.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in surgical procedures including, but not limited to: ECMO, CABG, LVAD, thoracic surgeries, VATS, lobectomies, and mitral valve repairs.
• Collaborate with our surgical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and safety during operations.
• Prepare and maintain the operating room environment, including instruments and equipment suitable for cardiac and thoracic surgeries.
• Participate in weekend on-call duties as scheduled to support surgical needs.
• Engage in the education and training of new staff and surgical technologists.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of scrub experience in a cardiovascular operating room setting.
• Experience with transplant surgeries (kidney and liver) is required.
• Completion of a surgical technologist program is preferred, but candidates with sufficient experience will be considered.
• Current AHA BLS certification is required.
• Experience in teaching and training in a Level I hospital setting is necessary.
• Trach care experience is required.
• Strong understanding and proficiency in cardiac/thoracic surgeries and technologies.

Schedule

• Orientation: 2 weeks, 5x8 hour shifts from 6:40 AM to 3:10 PM.
• Primary shifts: Day/Evening shifts, 12-hour shifts Tuesday to Friday; weekend call starting Friday at 3:00 PM to Monday at 7:00 AM.
• Note: No weekday calls are expected.
